Hossa, our country's newest national park, brings greetings from thousands of years ago: the oldest settlements date back 10,000 years, and the Värikallio rock paintings were carved 4,000 years ago. Waters from three directions converge at Hossa and continue to Oulujoki and Pohjanlahti. 90 kilometers of trails have been marked for hikers, which can be explored on foot, skis, and bicycles. The following Somerjärvi route connects Hossa to the Kylmäuloma camping area, whose trails pass through ridge pines and aspen trees.
