The Aegina island hiking map, at 1:25,000, is an ideal aid for exploring this Greek island in the Saronic Gulf on foot. The island is just 27 km from the port of Piraeus, close to Athens. Rich in ancient history, it is said to take its name from Aegina, mother of the hero Aeacus, who was born on the island and became its king.

Roughly triangular, the island extends about 15 km from east to west and 10 km from north to south. Its terrain is shaped by an ancient extinct volcano that occupies nearly two-thirds of its area. The north and west have fertile plains cultivated since antiquity with olive trees, vines, almond trees and fig trees; today, Aegina's pistachios are its signature crop. The more mountainous, volcanic south offers wild landscapes dominated by Mount Oros (531 m).

The map provides comprehensive coverage:

  • On the front, a detailed island map showing the full road network, beaches, churches and archaeological sites.
  • On the reverse, 9 recommended hiking routes, with practical information for each walk and historical background to help you understand the island and its heritage.

Printed on waterproof, durable Polyart paper, this map is well suited to hiking and outdoor use.
