Edmonton on an indexed, double-sided, waterproof and tear-resistant FastTrack map showing the city's central districts and Sherwood Park at 1:30,000, with an enlargement showing downtown Edmonton in greater detail at 1:15,000, plus a map of the Edmonton metropolitan area at 1:250,000.
Street maps from the MapArt / Canadian Cartographics Corporation / JDM Géo publishing group are generally produced at scales of approximately 1:25,000 to 1:35,000, with smaller towns often shown at more detailed scales.
All maps have street indexes. Maps of larger cities generally include an enlargement of the city centre. Maps grouping several smaller towns often have an overview map showing the entire area concerned. Maps use colours to indicate commercial, institutional or industrial land use, etc. Main traffic routes are highlighted and one-way streets are marked.
A range of symbols indicates, as applicable, car parks, bus terminals, metro and/or railway stations, various public facilities and services, places of interest, leisure centres, etc. Map legends for cities and towns in the French-speaking part of the country are sometimes in French only.
