The world's highest summit in three dimensions, seen from the west-northwest: Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Pumori rise above their glaciers, rendered with striking realism. Tom Patterson composed this view from 8-metre elevation data and a Landsat 8 satellite image, patiently retouching flaws in the data. The January 2025 update adds the China–Nepal border, the camps on the standard South Col route and many peak names.

This view was created by Tom Patterson, a retired US National Park Service cartographer and co-creator of the Equal Earth projection, and we print it to order in our Premium Edition collection, close to you: in Germany for Europe, in Canada for North America.
