Waterproof and tear-resistant topographic map and guide to Breckenridge's local trails.
Best known for world-class skiing, Breckenridge offers many other outdoor adventures. This former mining town stands at 9,600 feet on the Blue River, at the foot of the Tenmile Range. Dozens of hiking and mountain biking trails are easily accessible from town, leading through forests, fields and the range's high country.
The front contains a standard trail map; the reverse offers a guide to recommended walks, from the level 3.8-mile Blue River route to the full-day, 11.2-mile Wheeler Trail. Each selected route has a short description, distance and elevation gain, plus a detailed elevation profile to track climbs and descents.
Local Trails maps provide detailed mapping at 1 inch = 1/2 mile. Trail bends and contours in steep terrain are clear. In addition to trailheads and parking, difficulty is shown for individual trail sections, distinguishing a consistently moderate route from an otherwise easy route with one difficult stretch.
Printed on waterproof, tear-resistant "Backcountry Tough" paper, the map includes a full UTM grid for GPS navigation.
