This map of Italy – a new ITMB edition – marks a significant milestone: for the first time, ITMB is offering a completely original map of the country, after many years of publishing under license. It is therefore a new title , based on entirely new cartographic work, while still covering an iconic destination already well-known to travelers.
The map is printed on waterproof and durable paper , offering excellent longevity for travel. It is double-sided .
-
On the front , the northern half of Italy is represented, accompanied by a large detailed inset of Sardinia .
-
On the reverse side , the southern part of the country is covered up to the southern tip, including Sicily , with a deliberate overlap of the Rome region to facilitate continuity of reading.
The map presents a complete road network , showing existing and planned highways , all major roads , and hundreds of towns and villages . It also highlights major tourist attractions , large natural parks , maritime links , railways , outlying islands , and a hypsometric code allowing for clear visualization of mountainous areas.
Aware of Italy's high population density, this map prioritizes a clear and balanced national overview , while also being complemented by more detailed maps (Rome, Venice, Sicily) offered separately by the publisher.
In line with the evolution of tourist practices in Europe, particular attention is paid to the representation of the railway network , reflecting the significant investments made by Italy and the European Union to develop train travel.
