The combined route is considered by many to be one of Britain’s most accessible National Trails. It is suitable for first-time long-distance walkers and for winter walking thanks to Norfolk’s dry climate.

Peddars Way links the forests and heathland of the Brecks with the coast. Steeped in ancient legends, it offers a sense of remoteness and remarkable historic sites. The Norfolk Coast Path crosses dunes, marshes and nature reserves within the North Norfolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which has some of the best birdwatching in the UK.

Together, the routes form a moderate long-distance walk, usually completed in 7 to 10 days, but easily divided into shorter walks. The map covers both routes:

Peddars Way: Knettishall Heath to Holme-next-the-Sea, stated as 134 km (83.5 miles).
Norfolk Coast Path: Hunstanton to Hopton on Sea, stated as 74 km (46 miles).
