Lapplandsleden is a major recent development in Sweden's mountains: an entirely new continuous trail between Hemavan in the north and Borgafjäll in the south. It links Kungsleden in the north with the mountain landscapes of Jämtland to the south.

For the new trail, thirteen bridges were built, eight kilometres of walkway laid and one hundred and fifty signs erected.

This atlas provides the information needed to plan and complete a mountain hike along Lapplandsleden. Most of the book consists of detailed 1:50,000 mountain maps covering the 190-kilometre route.

It also includes suggested stages, descriptions of each section, information on huts and suitable tent pitches, and directions to the various starting points along the trail.
