Islands, fjords and glaciers: the southern tip of Greenland captivated Tom Patterson during a visit in 2022. His map highlights a surprisingly varied landscape, where the inner fjords of the south-west are just warm enough for small farms and a few pockets of low forest, among the ruins of medieval Norse settlements. The terrain is rendered from ArcticDEM elevation data.
This map was created by Tom Patterson, a retired US National Park Service cartographer and co-creator of the Equal Earth projection, and we print it to order in our Premium Edition collection, close to you: in Germany for Europe, in Canada for North America.
