The 1:25,000 scale hiking map of Aegina is an ideal tool for exploring this Greek island in the Saronic Gulf on foot. Located just 27 km from the port of Piraeus , very close to Athens, Aegina owes its name, according to tradition, to Aegina , mother of the hero Aeacus , who was born on the island and became its king.

Roughly triangular in shape, the island stretches approximately 15 km from east to west and 10 km from north to south . Its landscape is dominated by an ancient, extinct volcano , which covers nearly two-thirds of the territory. The north and west feature fertile plains, cultivated since antiquity (olive trees, vines, almond trees, fig trees), while the Aegina pistachio is now the island's emblematic agricultural product. The south , more mountainous and volcanic, offers wild landscapes dominated by Mount Oros (531 m).

The map offers a comprehensive overview of the territory:

  • On the front , the detailed map of the island with the entire road network , beaches , churches and archaeological sites .

  • On the back , 9 recommended hiking routes , accompanied by practical information on each route as well as historical landmarks to better understand the island and its heritage.

Printed on Polyart paper , which is waterproof and durable , this map is perfectly suited for hiking and outdoor use.
