This Pacific Crest Trail section from Willamette Pass to Siskiyou Summit mainly crosses the foothills of Diamond Peak, Mount Thielsen and Mount Mazama, the volcano associated with Crater Lake.
As it leaves Ashland for California, the trail enters the Klamath Mountains, where volcanoes give way to mountains, valleys, canyons and small lakes.
Highlights include Diamond Peak, Mount Thielsen, Sky Lakes and Soda Mountain Wilderness Areas; Crater Lake National Park; and Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument.
The PCT runs 4,265 km from Canada to Mexico, crossing six national parks, 25 national forests and 48 wilderness areas, including the volcanic Cascades, snowy Sierra Nevada, and Mojave and Sonoran Deserts.
Each guide provides detailed maps at approximately 1 inch = 1 mile, elevation profiles with distances between campsites and trail access points, and information on resupply and camping options. Its compact, waterproof and durable format is easier to use than folded maps.
Suitable for everyone from occasional walkers to thru-hikers completing the whole trail.
