The Wind River Range in northwestern Wyoming spans more than 3,500 square miles. Known locally as "The Winds", it combines jagged granite, alpine forests, open meadows, more than 1,300 named lakes and the largest glacier in the American Rockies.

Hiking, camping, fishing and snowmobiling are among the many recreation opportunities. Centred on the range, these maps show glaciers and numerous lakes for visitors arriving from Pinedale, Dubois or Lander. The Continental Divide Trail crosses the region on its route from Mexico to Canada.

The Wyoming State Department of Fish and Game supplied data on known fish populations for the thousands of lakes shown. Lakes containing fish are highlighted to help anglers choose a location.

Each trail section includes distance information for trip planning, and steep sections are marked.
