The tourist map of Denmark from Scanmaps includes the Margueritruten, or Marguerite Route: a 3,600 km itinerary inaugurated in 1991 by Queen Margrethe. Its winding course invites travellers to explore the country off the beaten track.

Following mainly country roads, this route favours slow travel rather than speed. It passes through remarkable landscapes, picturesque villages and numerous tourist sites. The route is described as limited to mainland Denmark; Bornholm and Samsø are not included. Sea connections allow travellers to continue to the islands.

Along the road, the daisy symbol marks the route, with arrows indicating changes of direction.

  • Complete road network, with main roads and numbered motorways.
  • Beaches, campsites and tourist sites.
  • Sea connections with crossing times.
  • Enlarged maps of Greater Copenhagen at 1:35,000.
  • Legend in Danish, German and English.

The map is printed on waterproof, highly durable Stone Paper. Fibre-free, it does not tear along the folds and withstands moisture. Its matt surface improves readability compared with conventional laminated maps. This material is manufactured without chlorine or water.
