High, wild, remote and icy: the Saint Elias Mountains are the highest coastal mountains on Earth. Massive glaciers spill down their slopes to the sea, across Alaska, Yukon and British Columbia. Front and centre in this panorama sprawls the Malaspina Glacier, with its concentric rings of ice, rubble and meltwater.
Started in 2017 and then set aside, the panorama was completed in 2021, when accelerating climate change gave its author a new urgency to map this glacier while it still exists. It was created by Tom Patterson, a retired US National Park Service cartographer and co-creator of the Equal Earth projection, and we print it to order in our Premium Edition collection, close to you: in Germany for Europe, in Canada for North America.
