The Camprodon and Ribes valleys are among the most remarkable areas of the eastern Catalan Pyrenees for hiking and high-mountain outings. Distinctive summits such as Puigmal, Bastiments and Costabona offer routes for all abilities. The extensive, well-waymarked trail network includes sections of the GR 11 and numerous scenic routes. Fir forests and high-altitude meadows create very photogenic landscapes.
In winter, the areas around Núria and Vallter are renowned for ski touring and snowshoeing. The charming Pyrenean villages make excellent starting points. The Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser Natural Park protects rich flora and fauna adapted to high altitudes.
