The author
Born in Touraine, Pierre Hérant lives in Nice, close to the Southern Alps. He devoted his professional career to environmental protection and energy conservation. His writing combines four lifelong passions: mountains, nature, travel and reading.
He is also a walking adventurer, having completed numerous treks and long hikes in France, including Nice to Mont-Saint-Michel and a full crossing of the Pyrenees, and around the world: the Nepalese and Indian Himalayas, Japan, Tassili, Réunion and La Palma.
After a 3,700 km cycle-camping tour of France in 2020, he set off in 2021 on the longest possible circuit close to the borders and coastline.
