Why is La Compagnie des Cartes changing its name to Cartovia?

For 15 years, you've been exploring the world with us. A hike in the Alps, a trek in Iceland, a road trip across Europe, Canada, or even the United States... Over all these years, you've come here to find the right map at the right time — the one that illuminates a route, opens up a possibility, or simply inspires a dream.

But today, our vision has grown bigger.

"La Compagnie des Cartes" no longer expressed everything we are — or everything we're becoming.

We no longer "just" sell maps. We support travelers in preparing their adventures, from the initial dream to the last mile — whether on foot, by van, with family, or solo.

And we now want to reach a wider audience, beyond French-speaking borders — anyone who shares this same curiosity about the world, this desire to understand it, to get a little lost in it, and to find their own way.

For them, for you, we're becoming Cartovia.

A simple, clear name, made for travel, that evokes:

• the map (carto)
• the way, the path (via)
• ... and that little inner spark when you start tracing an itinerary.

Cartovia: the name of a journey that begins

Cartovia is a brand designed as a trusted reference, but also as a source of inspiration and gear for those who love to travel differently.

You'll find:

• maps and travel guides, of course,
• carefully curated topographic maps and field guides,
• wall maps and 3D relief maps — to decorate, illustrate the joy of travel, or learn to read the world,
• custom-printed geographic maps, on premium paper (framed or unframed), or on plexiglass, canvas,
• and a growing selection of useful, durable accessories (like Rite in the Rain notebooks, Cotopaxi bags, Sawyer water filters, and other tools made for the field).

And soon, itinerary ideas, gift suggestions, and curated picks for every type of trip.

A new visual identity, inspired by travel

To accompany this change, we've completely redesigned our visual identity.

The new logo, which you'll discover this fall, is both a nod to our roots and a step forward:

it evokes a folded map — a familiar object you keep close — and a trail, the one you follow or draw along the way.

With it comes a fluid typeface, colors inspired by nature (earth, forests, rivers, clear skies), and a clean design built to last, like the journeys that matter.

But the heart remains the same: Cartovia is here to help you find your way, with confidence.

• Up-to-date maps, reliable guides, and wall maps that let you travel from home
• Fast shipping from France, Belgium, or the United States
• Above all, the same team: Valérie, Christian, and a small, passionate crew that's always here — and that actually answers when you write
• Still the same company, which we founded at the very start of this project in 2010, Moose Crossing SARL, of which we remain 100% owners
