December 1944, in the heart of the Ardennes. As Belgium and the Allied troops prepare to celebrate Christmas and the end of World War II, General von Rundstedt's German troops launch a surprise and massive counteroffensive in the Ardennes.

To commemorate this terrible battle, its various phases and its many victims, the GEIE Destination Ardenne has joined forces with the National Geographic Institute (IGN) of Belgium to republish a map enriched with an inexhaustible wealth of information.

A current topographical map at a scale of 1:200,000 depicts the general plan of the battle with the Salient, the advances of the various armed forces, places of remembrance, museums and military cemeteries. Zooms also detail certain locations rich in memorial heritage. An index also allows the user to locate nearly 500 places of remembrance throughout the Belgian Ardennes and Luxembourg.

The other side presents the context and tells the story of the battle in four languages. Six maps allow you to follow the troop movements and seven thematic circuits are proposed as so many remembrance routes. Finally, you will find a wealth of information on museums, information points, remembrance marches and war cemeteries.
